National Novel Writing Month is in November. People are challenged to write a 50,000 word novel - entirely within the month of November. I was thinking it would be awesome if we could draw a bunch of people to work on Runes of Gallidon Works. There is a little conflict of interest though, NaNoWriMo is about Quantity... not necessarily Quality. So, it might not be in the interests of the gatekeepers to push for NaNoWriMo Submissions...

Food for thought...

Fantastic Idea

Granted, a novel written in a month is probably not the best offering the writer could manage, but it's often said that finishing the novel is the biggest challenge for most people.

So, crank out a novel in one month (get over the big hurdle), then spend a few more months tweaking it.

Thanks for passing it along, we'll see how we can bring that into the Gallidon community!

NaNoWriMo

There's also lots of short stories written during that time since not everyone can finish a novel in a month. Some authors just start writing then and work on their works until next year. I kind of started over at NaNoWriMo researching and then found RoG a a couple of months later.

I think that making a couple of posts over in the Fantasy forum during that time about what RoG has to offer might get some good PR for RoG. There's lots of writers there and some really good writers.

NaNoWriMo

Hey folks,
We'd love a mention over on the National Novel Writing Month fantasy forums. We hesitate because we don't want to be seen as pimping our site rather than being viewed as a possible outlet for stories written during the month-long keyboard frenzy.

We'd like to hear from anyone who has experience and is familiar with NaNoWriMo as to whether or not it would be appropriate for us to start a thread on their fantasy board.
