Noble House schools

I figure that each noble house have it's own school to train the nobles in the House specific magic discipline and other matters. Different houses would probably treat the education a bit different, but there'd be some sort of central place and a set of scholars or elders to train the younger generations. I don't see the noble families as being home schooled, but more of a private boarding school. (Maybe the Lucan and Corvus would do it a bit less formal, or at least mostly outside rather than inside.)

Prior to Destruction...
Would it be safe to assume that each of the Houses had an academy/school/educational structure on the Imperial Isle? I think the Emperor might have wanted to keep the brightest close to him (for council and to watch).
Or does it make more sense that these schools were decentralized into whichever city was most populated by the Houses?

After the Destruction...
I assume that the new nobles still need to be educated in the ways of magic, so these schools must exist. Would it be safe to assume that these schools are now at the House's primary cities?

Schools for Magic

The methods by which knowledge of the mystical Arts are passed on to a younger generation vary from House to House and place to place. However, the farther one moves from the Greater Noble Houses, the more structured this transfer of knowledge often becomes.

Prior to the Destruction, each of the seventeen Greater Noble Houses maintained some sort of teaching facility for their specialty on the Imperial Isle. These facilities ranged from a single room to large, formalized academies. In the early years of the Empire, much cross-study of the Arts occurred. As the centuries passed, some Houses became secretive, some fiercely possessive, a few remained open in their dealings with "outsiders." At least one House became totally disinterested, completely ignoring their duty to pass on knowledge to the next generation. By the time of the Destruction, Imperial academies of the arcane were predominately overseen by lower nobles.

After the Destruction, arcane schools can be found in many cities and odd locations. The quality of the knowledge available in these schools varies as greatly as the locations. Certainly the academy maintained by the Greater Noble House Vanth in their fortress-city of Vaneth is of the finest quality, and the forge-schools of Mogadur are famed for their craftsmen. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there exists no known "schools" for Animal Mastery or Shape Changing in the High Hills, nor is there a specific academy for Spirit Mastery in the Sea of Grass.
