Submission Question

Greetings,

Just found your site via from the Gnome Stew feed. Great idea and I hope it goes well!

I did not find any RPG Module submission criteria and was wondering what your goals/ideas/constraints were relative to them. Specifically:
- Should they be built for a specific game/version or kept version free?
- Do they have to be a specific size or can they be smaller?
- If smaller, can the be posted into mini-module episodes?
- I don't see any references to other races then human (expect one in the wiki), are they fair game/off limits/part of the experiment?

I'll have more questions, but thought I would hit you with these first!

Once again, this is a grand little experiment and best of luck!

RPG Modules - some guidelines

Hi Joropa,
some answers to your questions:

We prefer version free – generic (or easily convertible to multiple game systems) modules. Emphasizing setting, conflicts and characters over game mechanics is a goal of ours.

These adventure modules can run from a detailed setting with several adventure hooks, to a single scenario/villain/creature/lair, to a connected campaign of adventures – whatever the Artisan prefers. We will publish larger modules (mini-campaigns or larger) in serialized fashion – breaking the module into weekly installments.

We love mini-module episodes! Something that equates to a single evening of gaming with a hook hinting at things to come.

At this time, Gallidon is an all-human setting with the various cultures providing spice instead of using the more typical race mixtures currently seen in the fantasy genre.

Some guidelines we're using in house for game mechanic conversions are Skill Mastery Levels: Trained, Skilled, Veteran, Expert, Master, Grand Master.

In a level based system:

  • Trained averages 1st Level
  • Skilled averages 4th Level
  • Veteran averages 8th Level
  • Expert averages 12th Level
  • Master averages 16th Level
  • Grand Master averages 20th Level

In a percentage based system:

  • Trained averages a 35% chance of success at a difficult task
  • Skilled averages a 50% chance of success at a difficult task
  • Veteran averages a 65% chance of success at a difficult task
  • Expert averages a 80% chance of success at a difficult task
  • Master averages a 95% chance of success at a difficult task
  • Grand Master averages a 110% chance of success at a difficult task

Being gamers ourselves, we're eagerly awaiting the first RPG submission!

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the input. Human-centric world... Got it...

I've got an idea or two in my mind, as I get sometime I will try to come up with a few short encounters.
