Names for the monsters

I have been having trouble with thinking of a name for my creatures. I recently got a work published with them in it, but they have no name as of yet. If you have read "Ambush in the Night" and have some ideas, run them past me! I would love to hear anything anyone comes up with.

Well, I am composing a story for H'Drin including your monsters, and "Grey-Ones" came to mind.

The name

Sounds like a reasonable name. I'm open to anything at this point. The things I showed were people converted into monsters. Then there is "the voice" that speaks to and controls their movements individually. It suggests something like a hive mind or something of the sort. I'm still working out those details myself. I think they could have a few names, depending on the area they are terrorizing. The might pop up in other places in the world, but I plan to have their origins in the Empty Lands.

Multiple Names

I like the idea of various names for these types of creatures as they reappear in the world. No one would know that a creature appearing in the Empty Lands is the same as one appearing in the Cold Mountains. People in each area would name the creature based on their culture or experiences with them.

"The Voice" is very interesting. I'm waiting to see what develops & who will battle these creatures. I'm not sure we will get a chance to fully investigate "the Voice" until someone is defeating the "grey ones?"

Making the list

Ok, I think I'm going with the different name for different area idea... Now I'll just have to make the list.

I like the "Grey Ones" as a name for them. If Cj can let me know where his story is taking place, I can fill that line in. Let the naming begin!

Story is taking place in the

Story is taking place in the mountain range below the High Hills, above the Rock and West of Gulf Port (I think that is the correct name). Now, H'Drin's story will be moving to Gulf Port and then who knows from there, but, if we plan well, I can have H'Drin and his new friend can linger around for a while.
